Chris Hibbert is working on an open source toolkit for Prediction Markets. He has previously worked at MIT, Xerox PARC, Agorics, and Sun, with extensive experience in ecommerce and project management.

On December 2, 2005 in San Francisco, Chris gave a talk on Zocalo and Prediction Market Design. (abstract) The talk covered the current status of Zocalo and proposals for improving visibility and liquidity of existing Prediction Markets. Chris wrote a white paper titled zMarket: An Open-Source Platform for Developing Decentralized Markets and presented it at DIMACS Workshop on Markets as Predictive Devices @ Rutgers Feb 2-4 2005. The paper proposes that CommerceNet fund Chris to start a project to develop open source software for Prediction Markets. CommerceNet approved the project. Chris has released several versions of the software, and it is in use at George Mason University. You can read Chris' recent thoughts at the Now Economy blog.
