We can overcome these problems by combining the best features of PACT and Web services. Agents wrap Web services, transforming them into rule-based “Knowledge Services.” Facilitators enable agents to communicate on a knowledge level; they route messages on the basis of their content, and translate between local data standards and messaging protocols. And Personal Agents enable humans to participate in automated processes.
